How long have you been making invitations for: Since 2008.
Most popular PrimaDonna design: The original ‘Ella’. I made 2473 of them before the lace was discontinued. They were all white too!
Most expensive invitation you’ve made: A gorgeous metallic ivory card with hand-cut lace from the bride’s dress. It was presented in a matching lined box, tied with ribbon and a personalised tag with more lace. The invitations were $25 each and that didn’t include the lace! The bride supplied that.
Biggest wedding you’ve worked on: 750+ guests in Perth in 2010. And there have been many more that have come close!
Favourite PrimaDonna design: The ‘Laura’. It’s all about the little pearls. (The Laura is also the second most popular design).
Total number of bows tied 2009-2016: 19,200+ all tied by hand, by me. I’m pretty sure I don’t have fingerprints left. I could rob a jewellery store!
Guilty secret: I watch Sex and the City and Secret Diary of a Call Girl while making invitations. I may also be in slippers…
Favourite colour palette: Anything charcoal, navy or blush pink.
Most popular colour palette: Ivory.
Most popular bride’s name: Natalie and Michelle.
Most popular bride’s occupation: Teacher or nurse.
Ever said ‘no’ to a bride: Yes. Not even I can make fluoro green classy. Period. (and where do you get bridesmaid dresses in that shade anyway?)
Ever done a celebrity wedding: No. However I have seen celebrities on my client’s guest lists. Many footballers, a fashion designer and even Mickey Mouse!
Ever had a bridezilla: Hahaha, No. I have had a very picky groom though! His bride’s choice of lace was apparently not good enough, so he took me shopping for lace instead!
