HOW TO WRITE AN INVITE

STEP ONE: The Host

This is where you nominate who is doing the inviting. Is it your parents? Your families? The Bride and Groom? If it is your parents, the Bride's father and mother go first, followed by the Groom's father and mother.

STEP TWO: The Invitation
This is where the invitation takes place. It is here that you can really play around with the language, to make it as formal or casual as you wish.

STEP THREE: The Invitee
Here you list the Guests that you wish to attend. It is customary to put the man's name first (however if you are inviting a female guest and she has a partner that you are not close to, it is acceptable to put her name first). The way you put your guests names can be as formal as you like.

STEP FOUR: The Event
Now you can mention the event. You may be as descriptive or creative as you wish.

STEP FIVE: Ceremony Details
Now you can mention the key details. Firstly, the date of the event, followed by the Location, then the address, and lastly the time of the event.

at two o'clock in the afternoon

STEP SIX: The Reception
Next you add the Reception details. Firstly, the Reception venue, followed by the address, then the time it commences.

HOW TO ADDRESS AN ENVELOPE
Addressing an envelope correctly is quite easy to do. Remember, it is always customary to put the man's name first.

Make sure you put a return address, just in case the postman finds it difficult to deliver your letter.
